Science museum

Today we went to the science museum in London. We started off looking in the Space section where we saw different engines from rockets such as the V2 engine from 1944 - it was developed by the German army during the Second World War.






12 people have stepped onto the Moon, Neil Armstrong was the first in 1969 and Eugene Cernan was the last in 1972.






We visited the launch pad and had opportunities to take part in various activities, for example, discovering how we can extend rays of light using mirrors and coloured glass.


We investigated different sounds and how they can change in pitch.



Finally, we went to a science show about explosions! We experienced flour bursting into flames, flash paper and took part in some experiments ourselves.
