I-pad maths
This week in Numeracy we have been using our Maths and IT skills. We have been using apps called Showbie and 30 hands to solve complex questions that Miss Williams set us. We had 4 numbers 1,9,9 and 6 you couldn't change the order but we could use the following operations ( multiplication, division, brackets, square route, squared, cubed and subtraction). We had to make the numbers:28,32,35,38, 72,73,76,77 and 100.

vote for Your World
This week we are going to do an election. All week we have been making posters to stick around the school and we made a power point on what we are going to do if you vote for us. Our party is called Your World and we will help the environment by decreasing the number of trees cut down, make education easier for poor people to go to university and spend more money on police. We will make a rule that if you cut down a tree you have to plant 2 new ones and if you don't, you have to pay a fine of £60 within 3 days, We will stop people poaching by 2020 and we will employ 1000 extra doctors to help save peoples' lives.
So please vote for us. We will do everything we can to make the world a better place to live in.

Coffee debate
Today in topic we held a debate. We are learning about Mexico so our debate was about coffee. If coffee cost £2.35 a jar, what is the amount The Coffee Farmers, Roasters, Exporters, Shipping Company and Retailers should be paid?
After preparing a points in our groups last week, we came to a decision on the prices we felt we should be paid.
After our debate, we spent then had to negotiate our prices down and eventually we came to a decision.
Coffee Farmers thought they were worth: 57p
Roasters thought they were worth: 35p
Exporters thought they were worth: 57p
Shippers thought they were worth: 40p
Retailers thought they were worth 40p
but...
Coffee Farmers were worth 4p
Roasters were worth £1.51
Exporters were worth 7p
Shippers were worth 14p
Retailers were worth 59p
Total jar: £2.35

Watford Penalty shoot outs FINAL!
Last Saturday Yr 5/6 went to Vicarage Road ( Watford stadium ) to watch the final match of the season against Sheffield Wednesday. They went 1-0 up from Troy Deeney (Watford's captain) however SW scored an equaliser to prevent Watford from winning the championship in the 91st minute.
At half time we went on the pitch to take part in the finals of the penalty shoot-out. It was a fantastic experience to be on the pitch in front of a sell out crowd. Unfortunately, we lost 1-0 to Yew Tree. We were given a trophy to take back to school an d a medal each.
