This week in maths we have been focussing on fractions - how we can add them together and subtract them. We have learnt a really cool method to make sure we can add and subtract fractions with different denominators, e.g. 2/5 + 3/4 - the denominator is the bottom in the fraction.
Here is our very simple butterfly method!
Can you follow it to answer the questions below?
5/7 + 3/8 =
2/5 - 3/4 =

space debate
On Tuesday 10th February, we had an exciting debate. We debated about whether or not we should spend more money on the homeless or exploring space. From each side we had had the best arguments and that was Chloe and Oscar. Oscar replied, " we cant go to Venus because of the acid clouds, and we can't go to Saturn because of the magnetic field." And Chloe quoted, "Learning is making mistakes, and learning is life." Our teacher (Miss Williams) put us into two groups, for and against. Before the debate, each team discussed their ideas together.
