Science Experiment!

On Wednesday 18th December we did a science experiment. We were trying to make tinsel fly with only a balloon. We had to use static electricity. We were in three differnt groups. We all tried different ways. One of the ways was rubbing the tinsel on the balloon, it made the ballon pop. Another way was to throw tinsel in the air then bounce it on the balloon, that too made the balloon pop.

Decorating our classroom

This morning, after our literacy lesson, we got two small Christmas trees from the loft and started to decorate the classroom! We got out all the tinsel and baubles and began turning the classroom into a Winter wonderland. We made the classroom look colourful (CHRISTMASSY! ). We changed our minds a lot about the positioning of the decorations however we got there in end. By Josh Williamson and Amanda Bayliss

What we have been doing today...

Today we have been reading the Highwayman poem. We have learnt that it is a narrative poem that tells a story. Some of the vocabulary is tough to understand but we have managed to infer the text successfully.

This afternoon we teamed up with Years 3 & 4 to learn our Christmas Carols in preparation for the Carol Service next week. It was an exciting time for the Year 6 pupils today...some of them have been waiting many years to decorate the Christmas tree...it looks FANTASTIC!
